Pical Resort opened in 2026 as Valamar's largest project, a five-star resort spread across a green peninsula in the Parenzana beachfront park, directly across the water from Poreč old town. It is a large property, more than 500 rooms and suites across three houses, including the V Level suites at the top of the range, so an arrival can mean anything from a couple to a full delegation landing together.
The resort sits on the seafront just outside the old town, reached through Poreč and down to the Parenzana park, where summer traffic and parking around the centre get tight. We bring guests to the correct entrance for their house, the Hotel, the Family Hotel or the Suites, so no one is left wheeling luggage across a 500-room resort looking for the right reception. From the door it is about a 10-minute walk along the waterfront into the old town.

What Pical Resort Guests Come For
Pical is Valamar's flagship and the newest five-star resort in Istria, built around the idea that one address can hold very different holidays. The V Level suites give couples a quiet, high-service stay with private areas and a dedicated concierge, while the family side runs an 8,000 square metre activity zone with all-day childcare. The spa is ESPA at Pical, the first ESPA-branded spa in Croatia, with seven saunas and themed relaxation zones across a year-round wellness floor. It is also a working events address. Pical holds the largest conference centre in Istria, a congress hall and meeting rooms for up to 1,200 delegates, so a good share of arrivals are corporate. Day Trips Bel'Istria Can Arrange From Pical Resort
Poreč old town is the first and easiest, a 10-minute walk along the waterfront. The UNESCO Euphrasian Basilica with its sixth-century mosaics is the centrepiece, set in a grid of streets that still follows the old Roman plan. The Parenzana trail runs right past the resort, an old railway line turned cycling and walking route that reaches all the way to Trieste.
Inland from Poreč, the wine and truffle country is close. Motovun and Grožnjan on their hilltops are around 45 minutes, with tastings and truffle hunts arranged through the day. The Lim Bay fjord, known for its oysters and mussels, is about 30 minutes south toward Rovinj.
Further out, Rovinj is around 40 minutes south for an afternoon in its old town, and Pula with its Roman Arena is about an hour. These work best as a morning departure with a return before dinner.
