The Signature Drive into Istria

Leaving Pula Airport, Istria announces itself almost immediately. The stone walls, olive groves and terracotta rooftops that define the peninsula are visible within minutes of the terminal. The Roman amphitheatre appears on the approach into Pula city, one of the best-preserved in the world, sitting right on the seafront. For guests heading north, the coast road toward Rovinj passes through Bale, where Meneghetti Wine Hotel sits at the end of an unmarked lane off the main road, the estate surrounded by its own vineyards. Grand Park Hotel and Monte Mulini in Rovinj are reached at the lower harbour entrance, a short walk from the old town waterfront.

For guests heading south to Medulin or the Brijuni islands area, the drive from the airport is under twenty minutes. Pula's Grand Hotel Brioni sits on the Verudela peninsula, a fifteen-minute drive from arrivals. Everything on this page is closer than it sounds and shorter than guests expect.

On to your hotel? We cover private transfers to Istria's finest hotels, and can plan a herbal estate sensory tour during your stay.

Make Your Pula to Istria Airport Transfer a Part of the Experience

Pula Airport is inside Istria. The drives are short, the roads are known, and the local knowledge is specific. Here is what that means in practice.

The shortest airport transfers in Istria

Rovinj is forty minutes from arrivals. Meneghetti Wine Hotel is twenty-five. Pula's Grand Hotel Brioni is fifteen. No other airport serving Istria comes close to these distances. Guests who fly into Pula do not spend their first morning in a car - they spend it in Istria.

A quick stop in Pula on the way if you want it

If you arrive with time before check-in, Bel'Istria can take you into Pula's old town for an hour. The Roman amphitheatre is five minutes from the airport and free to walk around outside. The harbour waterfront is another ten minutes on foot. Most guests who stop say they had no idea Pula was that worth stopping for.

Local knowledge that is not in any guidebook

Bel'Istria drivers work the peninsula year-round. They know which entrance Grand Park Hotel uses for arriving guests, how to reach Meneghetti's estate without missing the unmarked lane, and which Rovinj approach avoids the Saturday afternoon coastal traffic. For guests arriving at an Istrian property for the first time, that familiarity makes a difference from the first minute.
